Switchboard PowerKids NPO is an idea that originated from the owners of Switchboard Services, a company that supplies equipment and services in the Mining & Metals industry with a passion for harvesting souls for Jesus that have been called to work with the youth. In 2023 a 20ha farm was purchased in the Waterberg region with a beautiful nature surrounding close to Modimolle. A 5000sqm campground was built out of containerized sleeping units equipped with bunk beds and the capacity to sleep 72, the camp ground is electrically fenced and also has ‘n dining hall, Kitchen, Boma, Swimming pool, Volleyball pit and a Church. The first two camps, Boys & Grils were held in June 2024 and was a great success.
Our focus is on youth aged between 14 and 17 years of age, with little or no motivation to become successful after School, or who might be thinking of leaving School early. Youth who have encountered trauma in their life, or might be thinking of ending their life
Our camps are faith-based camps and we address these issues, speaking about forgiveness and surrendering, motivating youth to pursue a successful career with Jesus as main driving point in their lives.
During the course of the 4 day camp, there will be multiple fun activities, and there will be two services held each day upon which each will have a Praise and Worship session followed by a guest speaker. Our guest speakers are all people that come to testify of their life story motivating youth to pursue a successful career and not be chained by drug addiction to mention a few.
These camps are free and will be held each school holiday and will rotate between Boys & Girls, The parent or guardian of the child will just be required to complete a standard medical and Indemnity form
After the camps we also keep in touch with our youth organizing a monthly get together to maintain a relationship.
